Like me, many women who struggle with addiction are highly sensitive souls. We are empaths and we feel everything deeply. Although being so sensitive is a gift, it can be a challenging one! It is understandable that we looked to alcohol or drugs to turn the sensitivity down and to cope with an overwhelming world.
But there is a hidden gift in this extreme sensitivity. The addict or alcoholic who is highly sensitive is also a highly skilled manifestor and creator, whether she knows it or not. It’s simply a matter of harnessing and redirecting that sensitivity.
Many highly sensitive souls are walking around like human sponges, soaking up all the negativity around, unable to decipher what emotions are are theirs and what belongs to others. If we are drinking and using, we have even less ability to regulate what we take in.
If we are sober and conscious of our energy we can filter what we take in. But what’s even more spectacular… we can direct our energy consciously to manifest our desires. And highly sensitive women are particularly skilled at this! Why?
Because we attract what we feel, not what we want.
This is one of the secrets to the law of attraction. In order to manifest what we desire, we must be able to feel as if it is already in existence. For example, it is not enough to put images of wealth and luxury on a vision board. We need to sit down every day, close our eyes, and FEEL in our heart, body, and soul, what it would feel like to be as wealthy as we desire.
For a highly sensitive soul, this is easy peasy. The more energy (Shakti) we can pour into that feeling… well, all I can say is you will blow yourself away by how powerfully you manifest!
(Sure, we can manifest things even when we are drinking and using. I did. But the the amount of Shakti and feeling available to us when using is a thimbleful compared to an ocean when we’re sober. And let’s be honest. It’s pretty hard to FEEL your way to an amazing blissful life when you feel like utter crap!)
Not only will you be able to direct your energy to manifest, but you will be far more intuitive and aware of the quiet guidance of The Divine (or whatever you’d like to call it,) and your own body and soul.
Yes, being highly sensitive can be challenging. But sister, you are no sponge. You are a creatrix of the highest order.
Your sensitivity is your power. Don’t turn it down. Harness it, honor it, and direct it to create the life you desire and deserve!
